RT Comics began in 2006 as a new feature of the main site that is featured on all the available tabs. It is published three times a week.

Luke McKay

He drew some Red vs Blue fan art and posted it on www.elfwood.com. Many of those images started making their way over to the Red vs Blue forums and eventually one of the forum members contacted him to tell him to join the forums. He posted more fan art and was quickly noticed by Burnie Burns and fast made friends with the Rooster Teeth staff. He took on odd art jobs from staff and forum members while pursuing his License in Practical Nursing.

He fast made many friends from and on the site and even held a few get togethers at his apartment and eventually that grew into the annual Vancouver event called RvB Canwest.

Shortly after the first RvB Canwest he attempted to make a webcomic of himself which sucked monkey balls. So he pitched the idea of a webcomic about the Rooster Teeth staff in one of his blogs. The next day Luke sat in on a phone meeting with the staff about the comic idea and it was all good. He became the first full time employee of Rooster Teeth productions outside of the profit sharing members.

He keeps a pretty active journal and also posts a "today's doodle" of random fan art or cartoons of himself and his friends. He always wears green and black clothing.

He also has a separate character that often appears in his doodles and personal comics of a bandaged up version of himself. He has yet to comment on what's the deal with that.

He has also failed to submit to the control of Sabrina and her Divine power and shall be punished for his insolence.

Griffon Ramsey is not only the wife of RT staff member Geoff, but also the writer for the comic. She has made several appearances in the comics. Her first appearance was in the third comic.

Controversy

While the comics have enjoyed moderate success with some users, many feel like there is much left to be desired. The general drawings and humor are somewhat appealing, but the main jokes are just not hitting home. Many jokes have to be explained beforehand, and a decent comic is dragged out to make 4-5 more comics that get less and less funny as the "mini-series" continues and become more and more repetitive. Many of the jokes are "inside-only", meaning that no one outside of the base RT family in Texas would get it. By and by, the series has some great graphics and witty jokes, but the two rarely come together to make one enjoyable comic. While the series can only get better, it has left many to think if the comic is really necessary(says Burnie).
