Family
I was born in Texas on April 30, 1983. My parents are immigrants from Mexico. My dad came over in 1976 to do his residency in El Paso, Texas. My mom came over in 1980 after marrying my dad. They are originally from Mexico. Approximately half of my family still resides in Mexico. However, I have a half-sister that lives in Wales with her family and another half-sister who lives in Mexico City with her family. My brother currently resides in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. with his wife.
Nephews
I currently have two nephews, Ivan and Luis. They are far cuter than any of your nephews.
Education
I attended public Schools and graduated from high school in 2001. I have a BA in Political Science with a minor in Latin American Studies from Baylor University. I have also received my MA in International Relations from Baylor. This makes me so much better than you are. My specialty area is Latin America with a focus on Inter-American Relations and on Mexico.
Misc. history
Tae Kwon Do
Beginning when I was 7 years old, I began to take lessons in Tae Kwon Do and have continued to practice it to the present. I achieved my black belt in 1997, my second degree in 1998, and my third degree in 2002. Since going off to college, I have always taken the opportunity to go back and teach whenever I am in town. For a time, between undergraduate and graduate education, I taught Tae Kwon Do full-time. After returning from a study-abroad in Argentina, I took up teaching for a bit before beginning my search for a career job.
Knights of Columbus
I joined the Knights of Columbus on Aug. 29, 2004. I earned my 2nd & 3rd degree on March 4th, 2006. I became a 4th degree on April 1st, 2006. I am currently a member of St. Peter's Knights of Columbus Co. #13577 and Waco Assembly #1109.
Rooster Teeth History
I began my affair with Rooster Teeth thanks to Red vs. Blue. A friend had shown me some episodes from the first season, but I didn't have any idea what the site was. When I finally found the site again, it was at the beginning of the 2nd season, but I missed the window for sponsorship. I entered the forum and have since then been primarily a participant of the Politics & Current Events Forum, though I have been known to pop into one the other forums every once in a blue moon. I also lurk a few threads. While not a constant poster, I do make my presence known and am considered to be one of the regulars. Due to my educational background and the content of my posts, most of the other posters in P&CE call me the resident expert on Latin America.
When I post in the forum, you can rest assured that I know what I'm saying.
In the past, I supported the idea of creating a Religion and Philosophy Forum, however, I have accepted the current rules. However, it should be noted that I continue my support for the creation of an RPF forum. I was also involved in the DarkFae revelations. I have generally tried to stay away from some of the trends, depending upon their worth.
